New Family in Japan
For me, an Italian, Japan has always been a dream, a place straight out of an anime. But building a family with a male partner in this beloved country wasn’t easy. Exhausted from hiding my pansexuality while dating, I decided to explore sperm donation.
Beacon of Hope
When I first visited the SamuraiDonor website, it felt like a beacon of hope. Reading the donor profiles, I experienced a mix of joy at the prospect of having a child and a nervous tension about the responsibility of nurturing a life that wouldn’t share my DNA.
Pregnancy and Birth
Pregnancy was challenging, with morning sickness being particularly tough. But feeling my baby grow inside me made every day feel like a miracle. Childbirth was more painful than I could have imagined, but the moment I held my child, it was worth every second.
Life in Japan
Living in Japan has had its challenges, with language barriers and cultural differences. But having my child has helped me feel grounded in this country. I can’t wait to tell my child why I chose Japan and how much I love them.
Message
If there’s anyone else out there who wants a child, I want to say this: raising a child alone is tough, but it’s also one of the most rewarding experiences in the world. And Japan has so many people who are ready to support you.
